Jewish Cemetary

Within the village of Ouderkerk, opposite the museum, we find a hilly field spotted with gravestones. This is the cemetery where the Portuguese Jewish community of Amsterdam has buried its dead for already nearly four centuries. In the oldest part of it you can find many marble stones and monuments with exceptionally beautiful and artistic reliefs depicting biblical scenes and with poetic inscriptions describing the ability of the interred.
